Hello again,

I’m facing a little issue with the “printed bevel gear axle screw side” and the dogbone.

I’m with the 406 design so dogbones and rear arms have a 170mm length.

And when I mount those pieces, I have a clash between extremity of the dogbone and the screw into the printed bevel gear axle.

There’s no play for the dogbone and it’s even worse because the hub gets a negative angle. Suspension cannot travel.

I see two possibilities :

  • Have a deeper countersink on screw head (and reduce the proposed length of the screw, cause if we don’t we will have the same issue on the nut side)
  • Reduce the length of the dogbone on the screw side, but I’m not sure that it won’t generate an issue with the cinematic of the rear axle

Cheers,

Tpam

Hello,

could you please upload a picture about it ?

The DIN 912 M3x25 screw head should not cause the collision because it is sunken more than the head’s height.

Best regards,

Balázs

I didn’t take photo before modifying it by widening the sunk.

The screw I used is conform to DIN 912 caracteristics in terms of diameter and height.

But I wasn’t able at all to make it fit with the dogbone…

Hello,

I also used these 170mm rear rocking arms along with the corresponding dogbone with no collision.

You can shorten the dogbone using tools like Blender, for example.

Hi- What is the proper length front suspension holder I can use for the Flex shocks ? default one seems to push it down too much..

Hello Kevman,

There is one flexible suspension part with a hole-to-hole dimension of 48 mm, according to the 3D model.

The front suspension holder appears to be the part labeled 06_suspension_holder_front in your picture.

Which flexible material did you use? We printed it with TPE. TPU has slightly less shrinkage and is a bit harder, making it less flexible than TPE.

I attached a picture about our assembly.

I attached a 4 mm higher version of the front suspension holder, it may fit with your printed flex suspension.

Best regards,

Balazs
